Certificate III in Children’s Services - CHC30402This course is designed to be the first part of the Diploma of Children’s Services or to stand alone as a Certificate qualification. The duration of the Certificate III course is 24 weeks inclusive of 120 hours practicum. The Certificate III gives you career options as an Assistant in a Child Care Centre or Family Day Care Provider. After graduation you may elect to return to study to complete a higher qualification to enable you to adopt more responsibility as a leader/coordinator in a child related context. (pre-requisite - Certificate III in Children's Services)This further qualification enables you to explore your potential as a leader in the early childhood context. The duration of the Diploma is 28 weeks inclusive of 120 hours practicum. If you already have an Associate Diploma in Child Care, you may want to upgrade to a Diploma to meet changes in government requirements. On completion of the Diploma of Children’s Services students may choose to exit the course as a Qualified Group Leader or Family Day Care Coordinator or you may elect to continue your studies into the Advanced Diploma of Children’s Services or onto a University degree in the Education or Community Services professions. (pre-requisite - Diploma of Children's Services) The Advanced Diploma is specifically designed for early childhood professionals who wish to further advance their leadership options. This course satisfies all study requirements for a student wishing to be a Director in a child care centre up to 75 places. It has been developed by our academic staff in consultation with child care professionals and management and as such addresses all facets of child care, education, development and management. For students wishing to continue on to further University study, the high academic content of the course allows for articulation into University. The Advanced Diploma is 52 weeks, inclusive of 120 hrs practicum.
