The aim of this course is to help students develop the skills and language needed to successfully study at Universities and Colleges in Australia. It is designed to improve students’ reading, writing, listening and speaking skills with authentic samples of language. Students will be guided in the correct way to express ideas and opinions in an academic context. The course delivery encourages positive, pro-active learning, with caring individual attention. Students develop self-confidence, maturity and self-awareness needed to communicate effectively.

Assessment reflects the real demands of higher learning and includes:

• Presentations, including power-point presentations.
• Formal written test papers. Vocabulary and grammar.
• Written assignments, argumentative essays and scientific reports.

On completion of their studies students will receive a certificate indicating their level of proficiency.
