What our students say: Yuki Kachi

06 November 17

Yuki Kachi came to Australia earlier this year as part of the group from Imagine’s sister school, Nagoya College. The group are currently studying their Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care with Imagine Education after successfully completing their General English courses at Imagine’s Southport Central and Brisbane Campuses. We caught up with Yuki to find out more about her life in Australia and at Imagine Education.

Bright, friendly, and outgoing! These are just some of the words you could use to describe Yuki. The bubbly Japanese student has made the most of her time here in Australia exploring the beautiful Gold Coast, studying at Imagine Education, and making many new friends.

Yuki says she loved her General English course at our Southport Central Campus stating,
“It was very fun and I learnt so much! The campus is lovely and everyone is very good and kind and interesting. People are very helpful there. I improved my English so much there!”

Now studying child care at Imagine’s Main Campus, one of Yuki's favourite things about the course is the practical classes she enjoys at Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten.

“The children are so cute and I am enjoying it so much! Sometimes the studies can be hard but I really like studying child care with Imagine. I am learning a lot and the teacher is so kind.”

Making the most of her time here Yuki has enjoyed the excursions and activities on offer at Imagine Education. Attending trips to exciting places like Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Byron Bay were fun for Yuki, but she says her absolute favourite excursion has been Springbrook National Park where she enjoyed the nature hike and taking in beautiful scenery including a huge waterfall.

The Gold Coast has fast become home to Yuki who says she “loves everything” about the beautiful beachside city. “It is so fun here. I am living with an Australian family with two children and I am really enjoying this experience. I spend a lot of time with the children as a demi pair which is great learning for me.”

In her down-time Yuki loves visiting Burleigh Heads. “It is such a beautiful place! I like going there with my friends and we order fish ‘n’ chips and enjoy them together by the beach. It is such a nice time together.”

With a busy schedule of classes, study and spending time with her new friends and Australian family, Yuki also finds time to volunteer at the Children’s Hospital in Brisbane.

“My favourite activity at the moment is visiting the Children’s Hospital in Brisbane. I go there and the children are very happy to see me and I enjoy spending time with them.”

“In the future I will go back to Japan and study more child care then I hope to go to the United States and attend graduate school. In the future I hope to be a child life specialist teacher in a hospital.”

Yuki recommends Imagine Education to other international students wishing to study in Australia and says “I will miss it here when I leave. I love my teachers, my friends, and my Aussie family! My advice to other international students would be to study English and have fun!”
