Certificate IV in Business

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who use well-developed skills and a broad knowledge base in a wide variety of contexts. They apply solutions to a defined range of unpredictable problems, and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They may provide leadership and guidance to others with some limited responsibility for the output of others.

Outcomes include:

Developing skills in the areas of occupational health and safety, customer service, general administration, interpersonal communication, it support and use, learning and development, marketing, risk management and sustainability.

Pathways from the qualification

After achieving the BSB40207 Certificate IV in Business, candidates may undertake a range of Diploma level qualifications within the BSB07 Business Services Training Package, or other Training Packages.

Nationally Recognised Training

Students need to be 15 years old and are required to have reading, writing and comprehension skills equivalent to Year 10 pass level to successfully complete the Certificate level courses.

Overseas students English Proficiency Level will be tested prior to the commencement of Vocational Education and Training Courses. Imagine Education Australia requires an IELTS 5.5 with no band less than 5, or equivalent (as determined by Imagine Education Australia).

Pathways into the qualification

Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:

  • after achieving the BSB30107 Certificate III in Business or other relevant qualification/s
    OR
  • providing evidence of competency in the majority of units required for the BSB30107 Certificate III in Business or other relevant qualification/s
    OR
  • with some vocational experience assisting in a range of environments providing administrative or operational support to individuals and/or teams but without a formal business qualification.
