Job Club
New curriculum at Job Club
This year, Imagine Education Australia’s Job Club has been better than ever. Job Club Coordinator Alicia Stamford has put together an 8 weekly lesson plan that covers every aspect of the job search process, not just resume writing, but WHERE to look for work on the Gold Coast, what makes a cover letter stand out, and what body language means in an interview.
A teacher who knows the job market
Alicia brings her knowledge of the job market to Imagine students from several years of hiring staff, and being a job seeker herself.
"When you apply for a job, you know that you will be in competition with many other people. But what really sets you apart from the other applicants? You would be surprised at the little things you can do to make a huge difference."
Imagine Education Job Board
In addition to Job Club classes on Fridays, Alicia keeps several Job Boards around the Student Library, displaying hundreds of current, casual and part time jobs in the area that would be suitable for students. The boards are updated every week and sorted into industry so students can access job information quickly and without the fuss of knowing where to look.
Visit our VET sites for our exclusive Taster Sessions
Job Club was also proud to announce their Live Training Environment Taster Sessions. Each month, Job Club visits one of Imagine’s Vocational Training Sites, to discover what future careers and learning pathways are possible at Imagine Education Australia.
Students get the chance to experience a day in the life of a student studying Childcare, Automotive, Hairdressing and Hospitality. Students visited the Imagine Education Early Learning Centres, changed the tyre on a car and will even participate in a cooking class with our qualified teachers and chefs.
Job Club runs every Friday from 11:20am to 1:00pm.
