Management and Marketing
Hi! My name is James Roache and I am the Business Development and Sales Manager for Imagine Education Australia. During this time I have seen many changes and how much of family the college has become. In my years of teaching and marketing I have never experienced such a caring environment like this. I am originally from a beautiful city called Toowoomba which is 3 hours away. At the age of 17 I left home and moved to the Gold Coast where I lived with a Homestay family for 1 year while I studied Hotel Business. If you ever need to speak with me just say Hi! I am happy to help.
Director of Studies
Hello I’m Jane. I started working in the English Language industry in 2000. It began in Japan where I taught English for around five years with my husband. Upon returning to the Gold Coast I continued working in the industry while completing my Graduate Certificate in TESOL and Masters in Education. During this time I also became an FCE, CAE and IELTS examiner. I love this industry because I meet people from all walks of life from all around the world. When I’m not working I enjoy spending time with my two year old daughter gardening and shopping. I look forward to meeting you, and helping you to achieve your dreams.

I lived in Japan for a year after I graduated from my university in Sydney, and started my career in Education since my return to Australia in 2007. I watch a lot sports in my spare time, also play soccer, basketball, frisbee and badminton. Same as you, I was an international student a couple of years ago, therefore I can totally understand why you would choose Australia and what you want to achieve from your study. General English
Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m from New Zealand so I love sheep! No actually I’m crazy about outdoor activities, like snowboarding, surfing, hiking, kayaking and bungy jumping. As I’ve travelled and worked a lot in different countries including Japan where I taught English for 3 years, I’ve had to learn new languages and understand what it’s like to be a student. I love meeting people from other countries and like to have fun lessons! See you around!
General English
Hi! I'm Sue, one of the General English teaching team. I've had lots of different jobs in my life and lived in lots of cities. I've learnt German and it's great to talk to native speakers. I'm married with two teenage boys, one who is living in Thailand and one who is at high school. I love coffee and white chocolate and I don't really like snakes. We have small kangaroos every night on our grass at home and lots of beautiful Aussie birds. Have a great time here at Imagine and in Australia!

Hello! My name is Jess Kidman. I’ve been teaching at Imagine for over two years and have made many friends from countries all around the world. Before becoming a teacher, I travelled to South America and Europe, which is where I met my partner Nick. We’ve been together for several years and we’ve seen and done lots of amazing things. When we are not trekking up mountains in Peru, we love to go camping with our dog George, and we spend a lot of time at the beach. We also take students on weekend camping trips, which are so much fun. Come and say hello or else I’ll see you in the classroom!
General English and IELTS
Hi, my name is Grace Finardi. I have been working as a teacher here at Imagine Education for nearly three years, which I love for both the staff and the students. The mix of multiculturalism makes for a dynamic and stimulating atmosphere to learn in. It is so nice to see students make progress in their English acquisition and is really satisfying and rewarding. Before working at Imagine I was living in Bari, Italy. I worked at an English school called Wallstreet Institute for 3 years and previous to that English Express in Bari. I am currently studying a Bachelor of International Business and Languages so I know how frustrating and exciting another language can be to learn. Welcome to Imagine!

My name is Dave and I have been teaching for over 10 years now. I have lived in Japan for nearly 5 years, including a year as an exchange student at a university so I know what it is like to study a foreign language in a different country. Hello, my name is Jennifer Hughes. I am the High School Preparation Coordinator at Imagine Education. I am married and have two children. In my leisure time, I love going to the beach, going to the movies and reading books. One of our goals in the High School program is to prepare our students with the necessary English language skills to enable them to continue their education at Australian High Schools. TESOL
Hi there. My name is Maree. I teach Certificate IV in TESOL, although I started life as a nurse and a midwife. The medical profession was my first love and helped pay for my four months travel around Europe, Russia and Scandinavia. I left Australia and lived and worked for 27 years in London, Singapore, Dubai and Hong Kong and then returned to Australia. I have four children and two dogs: one called Adubu (from Dubai) and the other called Max (from up the road). After having my children I decided to change my profession and so I did a degree in Education – Early Childhood Studies. I felt that children were my calling. However, over time I decided to go into the TESOL field as my love and interest of different cultures was fuelled by living and working in so many countries. Even though I have many interests, I try not to do them all at the same time. I enjoy: yoga (I am also a yoga teacher), Watercolour painting, swimming, reading, canoeing, boating, snow skiing, listening to music and dancing – rock n’ roll. I am now working in a field that I truly love. It is amazing to see how the students learn and grow in an environment where everyone cares and supports their learning. I am extremely lucky to work in such an organization where not only the students are nurtured, but so are the staff. Welcome to Imagine .

Hospitality
Hi, I’m Rainer Goessner and teach Commercial Cookery.
During my time as a Sailor on a German Tall Ship visiting Australia in 1988, I had a glimpse of the country which is now my home for over 20 years.
I’ve been with Imagine since 2009. I arrived from Germany as young Chef in 1990. I instantly fell in love with the diversity of the food available and the people and later fell in love with my now Australian wife who happened to be a chef, too.
After so many years I’ve worked with a great number of people from all over the world. I have also worked in The Middle East, Switzerland, Austria and around Australia.
Teaching has been a lot of fun as I pass on my skills to students, I’m also experiencing each student’s culture and culinary background.
Our students have fun learning, as at the end of the lesson there might be the prospect of a taste of their efforts.
