Jo Ellings

Hi, I am Jo. I am the High School Preparation Co-ordinator at Imagine. Before coming to Imagine, I was a high school teacher here on the Gold Coast. I teach a range of subjects including English, Science, Maths, Japanese and Art. At Imagine, I enjoy preparing our young people for their life in Australian schools. I really love to see our students improve and gain confidence with their language skills. I know what it is like to learn a foreign language in a far away place as I travelled to Japan for a year as an exchange student when I was 16 years old. Having never studied Japanese before, it was a big challenge for me. I had to start with pictures! I have two daughters, Lucy and Kate, and a dog called Honey. Lucy is 8 years old and Kate is 5 years old. My hobbies include cooking, painting, and drawing. I also love a good cup of tea.

James Roache

Hi! My name is James. I’m from a family of 12 children! I’m ranked 11th. I love wave skiing and swimming.
I can play the drums and I have played in rock bands since I was 16! I enjoy cooking and studied it for 2 years. I love collecting CD’s and I have got the largest REM collection I think in Australia – almost 100 CD’s. Finally I like languages and I can say different things in many languages.

Ken Lusty

Hi my name is Ken. I am 56 years old and married to my lovely wife Robyn for 33 years. I have a son and daughter, Grant 32 and Deb 30, and 2 grand daughters, Breanna who is 7, and Bailey who is 3, plus a grandson who is due to be born in December. I have enjoyed all types of sport over the years, mainly Rugby Union and Polocrosse. I look upon myself as a person with a good sense of humour and enjoy other peoples company.

Hi there, my name is Amie and I am a mother to two wonderful children Elijah and Ellie. My husband Roko is Fijian and I have been to Fiji a couple of times. I grew up in Ballina with my family and moved to the Gold Coast five years ago. I love playing netball, eating chocolate and my favourite movie of all time is Xanadu. I really enjoy working at Imagine Education and I look forward to getting to know you all.

Shannon Semenikow

G’day everybody, my name is Shannon. I’m a Canadian born Australian who loves to travel and learn about different cultures and perspectives on life. My family and friends are scattered around the world which gives me an excuse to travel and so far I’ve been to about 30 countries. I enjoy surfing, scuba diving and anything that involves being outdoors. I am into music and can play the didgeridoo. I’ve also worked as a tour guide around Fiji, Australia and New Zealand so if you have any travel questions feel free to ask!

Ben Hutchings

Hello, my name is Ben. Welcome to Imagine Education. I work in the Marketing Department here. I'm currently learning German and I'm really enjoying it. I lived in Scotland for a year, coaching Rugby Union. My main interests are travelling, rugby and wakeboarding. I have travelled through Europe, USA and to Canada on a rugby tour. My favourite places to visit would have to be Monte Carlo, Venice, Amalifi Coast and Switzerland. Have a great time at Imagine and good luck with your studies.

Jamie Millen

Hi, I’m Jamie and I’m from New Zealand so I love sheep! No actually I’m crazy about outdoor activities, like snowboarding, surfing, hiking, kayaking and bungy jumping. As I’ve travelled and worked a lot in different countries including Japan where I taught English for 3 years, I’ve had to learn new languages and understand what it’s like to be a student. I love meeting people from other countries and like to have fun lessons! See you around!

Hello, my name is Katie and I am the Marketing Co-ordinator here at Imagine. I graduated from Griffith University in 2006 and studied Business (Marketing) and Japanese. As I studied Japanese, I know how hard it can be studying another language, so my best advise is to talk to native speakers alot! It really helps you learn vocabulary and grammar. I have lived on the Gold Coast for just over 7 years. I grew up in a small country town call Jandowae, about 4 1/2 hours drive North West of the Gold Coast. I often go home to visit my Mum and brother and love going to my family's farm. I enjoy spending time with my partner, Nathan, and going for long walks with my puppy, Ingo!

Welcome to Imagine!
