Fun fact: As a professional Chef I worked and travelled the world, landed in Australia and still here after 20 years… such an awesome Country
Fave cuisine: German cuisine: It is not all ‘ Schnitzel and Sauerkraut ‘ as many people might believe. The cuisine is very diverse and heavily influenced by neighbouring countries like France, Italy, Swiss, just to name a few. Germany as small as it is, has over 300 Michelin starred restaurants, offering dishes that represents heritage and regional belonging.
Nationality: German
Fave past time/Hobby: Painting Warhammer miniatures and sculpting military model figures. Apart from that I enjoy cooking at home. Yes, being a professional chef, I still like to cook at home
Job role and how I can help: My Job roll is ‘ Hospitality Trainer ‘. In this roll it important to understand ‘who’ your students are, origin, language and backgrounds. They all have the ability to learn, but every student learns different. It might be at a slower pace, or misinterpret some English words. That is where I can help the most, by ‘ supporting ‘ each individual, ensuring that they understand the content required and can apply this knowledge to their workplace and industry.
Supporting peer trainers where needed: filling in/delivery of class , marking, unit development, etc…. Be supportive !
After all, we are in a ‘ team ‘ environment at work and in our private life. And there is no ‘ I ‘ in Team.

Fun fact: I proposed to my wife at the summit of Mount Kosciuszko, Australia’s tallest mountain. Luckily, she said yes, otherwise it would have been a long walk down
Fave Cuisine: Italian. I regularly make pizza and pasta from scratch. It is a lot easier than you may think and nothing beats home-made
Nationality: Australian
Fave past time/Hobby: Fencing. I am at my happiest when I have a sword in my hand. Fencing is the world’s best sport because it is a combination of physical and intellectual skills. It has been described as being like chess played at the speed of squash
Job role and how I can help: I am the assistant manager at our Brisbane campus and as one of our academic managers I am responsible for English language testing and standards. I have also worked as an editor and proof-reader, so any questions you have about English, I’m your man
Student Spotlight
Vinicius Avalon Pereira
General English
“ I chose Vinicius as a Student Spotlight because, from the very first day I met him, he showed how much he values the opportunity to study in Australia. Vini joined my class with a very basic level of English and had never studied the language before. He always arrives on time, has excellent attendance, and consistently demonstrates dedication to his studies. He carefully keeps track of his grades each week, maintains detailed notes in his notebook, and is always willing to learn more and go the extra mile to improve his English skills.
The results of his hard work are clearly reflected in his weekly progress tests. Vini has become much more confident, and he continues to improve every week. I admire his commitment, perseverance, and the time and effort he invests in his learning.
Beyond his academic achievements, Vini is an outstanding classmate. He is kind, funny, respectful, and always contributes positively to the classroom environment.”
- Lorena, General English teacher
