What's On Gold Coast & Brisbane

Swell Sculpture Festival Gold Coast

Over 80 large-scale sculptures along beautiful Currumbin Beach which is transformed into an outdoor sculpture park. Connecting people, art and place, SWELL transforms public spaces into family-friendly outdoor sculpture galleries!

The annual SWELL Sculpture Festival is celebrating its 24th year as a free and all-inclusive 10-day outdoor sculpture exhibition by the people for the people. A celebration of narratives and stories spoken through the artworks produced by local, national and international artists.

Brisbane Festival Brisbane

Brisbane Festival is one of Australia's leading international arts festival. Throughout September it features hundreds of performances, public art, and free events across venues like QPAC, Southbank and Brisbane City.

Crafted Beer Festival Gold Coast

Goldy, Australia's biggest beachside beer bash is back! Crafted Festival is rollin' into Kurrawa Park for its massive 10 year celebration, and it's going to be frothier than ever!

Expect epic brews, top-notch tunes, and good times on tap as we serve up the best crafted bevvies from across our beautiful country, including some very special treats to celebrate 10 years of Crafted.

Prison Island Brisbane

Prison Island is a unique take on the escape room, packed with adrenaline pumping games and intricate puzzles.

Saskia

Fun fact: I was only ever meant to stay here for one and half years, but 22 years later I think I am now “stuck” here, and what a place to be stuck at 😊

Fave cuisine: Anything I do not need to cook.

Nationality: Dutch/ the Netherlands

Fave past time/Hobby: Spending time with family and friends, random trivia games, playing Xbox games with my 2 boys

Job role and how I can help: I am a hospitality trainer, teaching Certificate III Commercial Cookery theory and Diploma of Hospitality Management. I am here for all of my students, in any way I can help. My thoughts on teaching is I would love for my students to leave their class room with a little bit of new knowledge or confidence they didn’t have before

Fun fact: I restrained a passenger, that went crazy on a flight to Majorca, until we made an emergency landing in Toulouse France

Fave Cuisine: Currently pizzas, experimenting with dough and food combinations. Using my wood fired pizza oven

Fave past time/Hobby: Breeding and racing horses. Spending time with my family. Watching Everton FC…the greatest football team in the World!

Job role and how I can help: After working through all of the Kitchen Hierarchy levels in Restaurants, Cruise Ships, Resorts and Gastro Pubs, I am happy to assist students with career planning. I have a lot of industry contacts and insight into how to guide students through the Skills Assessment TRA (JRP) process

Remi Yoneda

Certificate III in Individual Support

Congratulations to Remi Yoneda, our Student of the Month!

Remi is originally from Japan and is currently studying the Certificate III in Individual Support. She has expressed how fortunate she feels to have the opportunity to study aged care and gain valuable skills and experience in Australia.

Remi's positive attitude, dedication to her studies, and genuine passion for supporting older people have made her a valued member of the class. We are proud of her achievements and look forward to seeing her continue to grow in her aged care career.
