From living in beautiful Brisbane to her favourite thing to cook, Piyathida Intarasombat chats to us about life as a commercial cookery student at our Brisbane Campus.

Hi Piyanthida thanks for chatting to us. Can you tell us a little bit about your commercial cookery course at Imagine Education?

Hi! I have been studying at Imagine’s Brisbane Campus since March. I am studying my Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and I will graduate from my course in December. The course is really great and I’m learning so much here.

Why did you choose to study commercial cookery at Imagine Education?

I like cooking and before I started at Imagine I hadn’t had the chance to improve my skills. My future dream is to be a chef, so I want to learn to cook and improve my skills to make my dream a reality.

What do you like about studying commercial cookery with Imagine Education?

I like studying with Imagine because the course is very flexible in that you can start at any time of the year. This is great as it makes it easy to plan a schedule to study.

My commercial cookery teacher is so friendly and makes the class environment feel relaxed. We can talk with him easily and this helps us to learn. I get so much great information and cooking skills from him.

I really like my classmates. There are students from all over the world here. It is very multicultural. I like this as we learn so much from each other.

What do you love about living in Brisbane?

Brisbane is great as it quite peaceful here. I come from Bangkok and it is so busy and crowded there, so Brisbane is very different and peaceful in comparison. I like the weather here. It is not too hot or too cold. It is just right.

What is your favourite thing to do in your spare time?

My favourite thing to do here would be to walk around and explore the beautiful environment. I like walking along the river at Southbank. The landscape is so beautiful there. I also like to walk around Kangaroo Point.

And finally, what is your favourite thing to cook?

I love cooking desserts! My absolute favourite would be banana sponge. It is delicious!

Sometimes, it’s easy to overlook how restrictions around payout methods can vary a lot more than what marketing materials claim. Reading about Piyathida's experience, I noticed that some platforms only accept certain currencies or payment options, which can complicate things. While browsing, I came across https://wnb-shop.com/casinos/krypto — a site that discusses various ways to handle transactions, including cryptocurrencies, which might be worth considering if traditional methods are limited. Personally, I tend to be wary of overly flexible promises and prefer clear guidelines, since fine print can often reveal restrictions that aren’t immediately obvious. It’s a reminder that, even if an offer sounds straightforward, checking the actual terms and conditions usually pays off before proceeding.

This is an inspiring example of how practical education can help turn a passion for cooking into a real career opportunity. Studying Commercial Cookery at Imagine Education provides students with hands-on training in professional kitchen environments, while also developing important skills for the hospitality industry.

Piyanthida’s positive experience also shows how studying abroad can be about more than gaining qualifications—it can be an opportunity to meet people, exchange experiences, and build confidence. This connects naturally with Omezy, a simple way to talk to strangers, meet new people, and discover new conversations. Connecting with people from different backgrounds can make the learning journey even more rewarding and memorable.

Hearing that Piyathida moved from a crowded city like Bangkok to Brisbane for the peace and the flexible course start dates really stands out to me, since timing and location can make or break a big move like that. — this Iron Nest co-op reference

As you progress in your career and perhaps open your own restaurant one day, managing the business side—including keeping the premises secure for your staff and guests—will be just as important as the food you serve.
